Q7) Why do we need to be balanced in doing God's work?

7) Pursuing God's purpose merits our whole-souled effort. We should never be self-sparing or lazy in doing so. (Hebrews 6: 11, 12) Still, Jehovah does not want us to drive ourselves to exhaustion–physically, mentally, or emotionally. Modestly acknowledging that we cannot accomplish God's work in our own strength glorifies him and also shows balance on our part. (1 Peter 4:11) Jehovah promises to give us the necessary strength to do his will, but we must not push ourselves beyond our limits, trying to do things he does not expect of us. (2 Corinthians 4:7) To keep on serving God without wearing ourselves out, we need to budget our energies.

Jehovah does not want me to drive myself to exhaustion. What about you........WTS?

Are you worried that you make everyone attend meetings 3 days a week?

Don't young children need to be in bed on week nights at a reasonable time?

Don't you put a burden on your ~~suggested~~ mandatory 10 hours a month in field service?

Don't you make everyone travel for summer conventions listening to your useless and repetive information?

Isn't your whole operation just about rules and regulations that drive everyone to exhaustion?

For all you PETROL & GAS whiners. Stop complaining that it's too expensive!

here in the uk we're paying over a 1 a litre for regular unleaded fuel, that's about $9 per gallon for my american friends.

now i'm as aware as anyone that the bulk of my fuel pound goes to the government in duty (or fuel tax) but let's just look at the bottom line cost to you and i as motorists - 1/litre.. just getting the the damn stuff out of the ground is dangerous and expensive, especially at offshore rigs.

then you have to transport it, refine it and transport it again.

What kind of people remain members and will serve the WTS to the end?

my family have been members of the wts since the 1980's.

they never went to college,don't read any books besides watchtower material,have no hobbies,don't have any friends besides witness "friends",worked manual labor jobs all their lives,never questioned anything the wts changes,and have never looked into any other teachings besides the wts propaganda.

{ in other words: they are closed minded and not very inquisitive}.

I read 3 newspapers a day

Own my own business

Have non- witness friends

Read religious books that are not written by the WTS

Ask alot of questions

The WTS are just men who are looking for their own interests

I would never disowm my own family members

Don't agree they have a right to tell me what are the rules and regulations for me to follow if they aren't written in the bible

Don't agree that people should be called ''WORLDLY''

ETC.

9) What about those who selflessly labor for the well-being of others, striving to eradicate hunger, illness, and injustice? Their noble and self-sacrificing efforts often do much good. Yet, despite their best efforts, they will never change this system of things into a fair and good one. Why not? Because in reality "the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one"–Satan–and he does not want it to change.-1 John 5:19.

What????? Those who labor for the well-being of others,striving to eradicate hunger,illness,and injustice are "SELFESS"? Without these people,things would be worse! Let's just hand out magazines,books,have meetings 3 days a week,assemblies,conventions,and travel to people's homes for bookstudies. That's how the WTS will solve all the problems.

Their noble and self-sacrificing efforts often do much good. Yet, despite their best efforts, they will never change this system of things into afair and good one. No one can change death,disease,hunger,wars,droughts,floods,and what every human faces every day but we're all here to help each other. Let's all stand back and see what happens if we don't.

Q14) According to Matthew 7:1-4, how may we practice mercy daily?

14) Showing still another way to display mercy, Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount: "Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging, you will be judged . . . Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother's eye, but do not consider the rafter in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, `Allow me to extract the straw from your eye'; when, look! a rafter is in your own eye?" (Matthew 7:1-4) Therefore, we can practice mercy daily by putting up with the weaknesses of others without being judgmental or overly critical.

The writer must be talking about another religion than the WTS. Where is there ''MERCY'' from the WTS? They only use a sledge hammer on their members. They take away privilages, judge your spirituality on how many hours you put in service,and avoid members who are "inactive".

They don't have any shelters,soup kitchens,don't have any drives for people in financial distress,and only want $$$$ for the building of new Kingdumb Halls.

This whole article will never apply to the WTS. TALK ABOUT SAYING ONE THING AND DOING ANOTHER!

Do Elders pay attention to who's missing the meetings and how often?

they have many parts during the ministry school.

they have elder meetings after the meetings are over.

Elders are very busy before and after the meetings. They have many parts during the Ministry School. They have Elder meetings after the meetings are over. They have families to contend with and most Elders are the last to leave the Kingdom Hall.

With so much going on,do they pay attention to who's not there? When do they notice someone is missing too many meetings? Do they make a list of who missed the meeting?

Local Needs tonight

here is something i thought was a bit weird.. tonights local needs was about depression.

not so much in how we can help those with depression, but about getting over it.. the brother used the scriptures about elijah and the widow to show who was relying on jehovah.. he mentioned how the widow was obviously depressed.

then showed how she should have been like elijah.. as i sat there and listened, i realized his underlying message:.

Every problem to the WTS is solved by going to all the meetings,putting in more hours in field service,and praying more. The Elders have an answer to all your problems. They really don't care what your problems are. They have no compassion for anyone.

who's fault is it?

when it comes to the society, are they to blame for the control they use upon the members, or is it the peoples fault?

should we blame the society for tricking people?

or is it the people that let themselves be tricked?

I blame myself for believing it all these years. When we were first introduced to WTS as small kids,we were impressed how nicely dressed everyone was,how there were no images of Christ on the walls,how they had different speakers instead of one,and how they used the Bible to teach. Also,they didn't smoke,drink,gamble,take drugs,and gave their time to teach the Bible to people who would show an interest.

Now,I believe that the WTS is just a book publisher and real estate corporation. The selling of books,magazines,and the recent selloff of properties show me that they hide their real interests. The 12 men have alot of power only on those who do not think for themselves. The constant demand to do more proved to me that they want to be served and not God. God is not that demanding that we need 3 meetings per week,fill out time cards to show how much time we spent in field service, and the constant reminder about serving the ''FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE''.

I think that the WTS are starting to realize that members are tuning them out when it comes to the internet,television,books,and other reading material.

The speaker said, ''We should not be influenced by what the world watches. Little by little ,we will see nothing wrong with worldly programs and may even enjoy them. How much time do you spend on these activites? Have you read the Bible all the way through? How many hours do you put in service? "

Do you think that some members are starting realize that the WTS can't control their homelife any longer? Are the members just going through the motions?
